Popularity of Diesels and 4x4's in your area....

Which oil gets the best lab results?

For reasons known only to themselves, DC drops the Dodge Ram line, and Cummins pulls out of the light-truck market. What do you drive next?

Keep my dodge cummins forever and buy any I can get my hands on.

Fords interior is too bland... . but Id take a ford over a gm :(

I voted Ford, but would buy a pre-2003 with the 7. 3L PowerStroke. If I couldn't get a 7. 3L, then there's no way I'd buy a 6. 0L, but would rather have a Triton V-10.

One of the two I already have, if I have to use a truck. Otherwise, one of the other vehicles in my sig. I'll never buy another new vehicle, anyway, unless it's for my wife. And the paint's already falling off my 96, too.

Yep, the paint fell of off the '89 and I would still be drivin' it If I had not wrecked it :{ I'd keep the '00 till it was worn all the way out, and then get a 3rd Gen till it wears all the way out. Then, a US Truck  like a Crew Cab Ford 7. 3L.

I already plan on keeping both of mine long beyond the expected service life, the paint is already falling off of the 94.

At the rate I am driving mine, it will be another 80 years before I get to 1,000,000 miles, and by then, I'll be 130. I kind of wish the paint would fall off mine as I'm not all that happy with my color selection anyway. I really like the new Inferno Red.

keeping it till the paint falls off seems to be a easy task hell the paint was falling off when i bought it, how about a harder goal like engine falling out

If I needed a new truck I'd get a Toyota. I like my Dodge but I'm not going to keep it forever and dump tons of money into it to keep it on the road. When it becomes unreliable or becomes a money pit then it's time to move on.

It's a truck, not a child. I don't have to love it regardless of what it puts me through. :-laf

I agree with Coolslice. I suspect the survey does not take into account all the responses from those of us who had multiple answers to this questions. I'd run my Dodge into the ground then buy a Toyota Diesel, Nissan Diesel, or something beside the Chevy Diesels or Ford Diesels. George

I would much rather put $400. 00 a month into my trio in maintanaince and fun than a new $700. 00 payment and still have the maint. Save on insurance and have all my pinks.

I would sooner go back to gas than drive a duracrack or powerjoke. How demoralizing. :(

My dad had a late 80's Toyota diesel, and it was an indestructable little truck. His logging crews rolled it twice, but each time they winched the roof out with a skidder and hammered things out until new glass would fit. Never had any mechanical problems with it, and it got 40 mpg (not bad for a 4x4). If Toyota made a full size diesel, I know he'd give it a serious look.

Well naturally if I could I would keep my 2005 2500 4x4 until the wheels fall off, so to speak. But really if I had no choice, I would likely go with a GMC Sierra 3500 Crew Dually 4WD w/ Duramax & Allison LBZ motor. I would hate to go that route, but could not bring my self to own a Ford.

Well the duracrap's engine, the 6. 6 is manufactured by isuzu, allthough I too would probably buy a toyota diesel, those things go forever. Even there gassers go forever so I can imagine what there diesels can do lol

I'll keep the Cummins forever, maybe drop it in to a Ford Extended van when the body falls off the Dodge.

Any manufacturer who brings out an in line 6 will get my bucks. Does Nissan use them in there in their big trucks already?
