Howdy all,

My recent problem with my MagView front differential cover have led me to decide I need a leveling kit to raise the front up high enough so the track bar will clear the MagView.

In reading other posts about leveling kits here, it seems when installing leveling or lift kits, it alters the front axle alignment, and so I would also need to make some type of alterations to the track bar?? Such as getting a DT track bar or the Luk's links I have heard about???

I was hoping this would be a fairly cheap, easy thing to do.

Thanks,

Tom

Alignment?

I heard when you do a leveling kit, the 4 rod links make the axle pull back a bit so the lower links need to be longer so some kits have them included.

The DT track bar is a good idea just to replace the POS stock one.

So you got the Dana 70 magview for the front, huh? how much was it?

i put the 2" leveling kit on both my trucks. no need for longer lower control arms or a trak bar if thats all the higher you plan to go. the lift does pull the axle back but there is enough adjustment on the caster setting to get it back to the positive position. have it aligned ASAP after installing the kit.

Lift Kit....

If you do a leveling kit the front axle will pull to one side 1/2" to 3/4". The DT track bar is well worth the money, it is adjustable so you can center the front end. The axle end receives a urethane bushing and the frame end gets a new bracket. The bar is polished 1 1/4" threaded at both ends, heim joint at the frame. Very high quality :) . The DT track bar does not hit on my ORU aluminum Dana 60 front cover. I just went ahead and bought the Skyjacker kit complete.

EricBu12, these Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton 4x4s have a Dana 60 in the front.

I know the fronts have a dana 60 but the dana 70 has the same bolt pattern.

the link bars that are stock are stamped steel and very flimsy. I think that if you do a lift, you might as well get the new bars and the track bar to make it complete.

too many toys wanted,... . too little money lol

Leveling kit vs Springs

I am also considering installing either the 2" leveling kit or the 2" SkyJacker kit that comes complete with Springs and shocks (front only). Is it better to go with the leveling spacers or just go ahead with the complete kit with springs to level the frontend? Also if anyone has a recommendation on a clean CB radio mount I would appreciate it. My ICOM 706 MKIIG has a detachable face place so this was a non issue with this radio.

Thanks for the info guys.

Eric, sent you a PM.

CConway, Michael Brolin's CB mount bracket is fantastic! I have a Galaxy DX 959 installed on his bracket in my truck, love it! Search for mbrolin or CB in the Products/Accessories forum, you should find it.
