well, you know how the rest goes. Started changing my VP last night, and lucky me, just about had the new one in, and the key fell out..... right into the timing case! So, started pulling everything apart tonight, but the front cover was practically glued fast, and I didn't have a putty knife to drive in there to break the seal, so I'll have to grab one at work tomorrow and try and finish her up. Didn't wanna try and bust it loose with a screw driver and risk bending the cover or gouging the housing. Guess I shoulda put loctite or something on the key to get it to stay in the shaft, but I was in a hurry. Guess I learned my lesson. Part that really gripes me is this would be the perfect time to do a cam, but unfortunately funds wont allow that at this time.

I had that happen too. Lucky for me, I just took the vacuum pump/power steering pump assembly off and fished with a magnet and got it. Take a center punch on the sides of the key and make 3 punches on each side, then tap it in. It won't fall out so easily!!
