Thinking about anti theft and what the ECM HAS TO HAVE to start.

It HAS TO HAVE:

Camshaft Position Sensor? ECM pin # 17 (Does it?)

Fuel Injector Pump Synch Signal? ECM pin # 18 (Does it?)

Cummins Bus? ECM pin # 2 (Does it?)

APPS signal? ECM pin # 25 (Does it?)

Other inputs that it HAS TO HAVE?

It must have crank sensor to start. If it is equipped with a skim key it must receive a message from the skim module

I don't know about 2nd gen but 3rd gen have black and grey keys. The grey ones are the SKIM keys. Its another anti-theft device

I believe that's a unique chip inside the 3rd generation key that is coded to each truck, and must match, or it sets off the alarm - my '85 vette had that feature...
