i know this is not the place to post this, but i think it will help keep someone from being stranded.

if you drive through water deeper than 6 inches check all the axle fluids and trans and transfer case flids. i recently went through about a foot of water and had water in my front diff and transfer case.

thursday i had no choice but to drive through 2. 5 feet of fast moving water to cross a flooded road and again water in front diff (a lot) and water in t case (not so much) but checked all fluids just in case. i have no leaks so water must have been forced past seals.

That is right you are supposed to change your fluid in diff. if the axle goes under water.

I don't know about diffs. but T-case would have vent on top.

Two things...

The diff seals are either worn or the vent is plugged... make sure the vent is extended into the engine compartment. Axle seals should withstand short duration, deep crossings without water intrusion.

The tcase, check the vent breather... should be up high as noted, you can extend them if needed. Nothing much you can do about it unless you extend it... then the next issue will be the transmission.

its just an excuse to put a snorkel on and run all my vents into it. then i will see how deep is too deep for my truck.
