Hey Guys,

It's coming around to that time of year when I have a little free cash flow to drop into my truck. Last year I bought the '06 and made a few light mods (noted in sig). My primary focus this year is streetable power and sound. I am not happy with the MBRP, just not enough growl for me, so the exhaust will need some work. I dont tow often with the truck, but when I do it's a long haul (26' Bumper Tow Travel Trailer Half way across the country, etc. ). I want to retain the ability to hook up to decent loads and not worry so much about the temps. I hot rod and blow smoke around town pretty much as a way of life, so stoplight to stoplight is primary focus. I am not trying to put down 12 second quarters, or make my friends cry when they watch me dyno.

Here are my current thoughts:

  1. transmission / TC - Georends - They seem well supported by TDR emmbers and I havent seen any bad press or dissatisfaction with them at all.
  2. Turbo/s - BD Twins - I kinda have a fetish for a set of twins. Quick spooling is important to me and I love the turbo sound. BD's kit looks very clean and I feel confident it's an install I can complete myself.
  3. Fuel System - This is probably my weakest area in terms of experience and knowledge. I am thinking Fass 95 /150 and a set of 75-100hp sticks will get me to my goal. I shouldnt have a problem with the stock sp3 handling this power level will I? Do I even need the sticks?
  4. Bypass Oil Filter - Gotta Give a Little Love with the abuse.
  5. TST Powermax to stack with Smarty.
  6. Anything else?

What I would really like to see is your recommendations for reaching my power and driveability goals. I would like to close out the summer in the 500hp range without really stretching any single component beyond it's capabilities.

Thanks,

JT

it sounds like you are on the right path for some pretty decent power. with the mods you have listed you will easily be in the low 600's.

Me thinks you must have more than a little free cash flow :) Sounds like about 5 grand worth of mods there. Aw heck, I've spent about 2 grand a year on mine in the last 5 years. The big ticket items are few and far between though.

I'd go transmission and fuel system first.

Have fun!

The Fass 95/150, FDP's Stg 2 CP3, and I F1's (I think) stg 3 injector, Smarty, headstuds, and SilverBullet 66 made my buddies Mega move pretty good...

That's just the Smarty. The TST was turned off. Either I'm draining the rail, or the wastegate is freaking out, but there is an odd popping by the bellhousing area. We even have the Enteprise Coolant bypass kit in the rear freeze plug.
