New Edge Juice on a 99. Strange results. Help?

Manual Transmission Filter Source?

The following is a copy of a current thread I started on the Superchips Flashpaq forum. There are numerous problems listed in other posts on the site also relating to their model # 3805 that is for the 5. 9L Cummins. I find it disappointing that they are a advertiser in the quarterly TDR. :eek:

I sent the following to your tech support;

Comments:My 2007 Dodge with the 5. 9L (* does not run the same as my 2006 did at all! The 2007 is identical except for model year to my 2006. The problem is that when the truck is running on the performance setting it builds just as much boost as before 38-40 psi but it's got a huge delay after the boost tops out before you can actually feel the truck start to really pull hard. It feels like it's being held back by something then all of the sudden it will go. I called and spoke to someone there who said that its just turbo lag but thats b. s. as the thing is already at 40 psi before it does anything!! I have owned 7 turbo diesels and never had any of them run like this. Also, the truck runs fine stock. No codes are being set either. Any ideas???? Is it because this truck was just built four weeks ago and your program is not that up to date?? PLEASE HELP!! I have been! a customer of Superchips for 7 years now!

And this was the response I got... ... .

"The 07 tuning in the truck is different from the 06, so it will not feel the same. "

W. T. F????? Is that any way to address a long time customer who clearly knows when there is an issue with the programming? I can assure you the way it runs would not be considered ok by anyone who knows something about diesel trucks!

Have you sent us a service ticket?

If not please do this is the best way to get to have feedback from our calibrators who wrote the files.

Ron, the respnse that is quoted above is from the trouble ticket that I sent in! I thought by doing that they would look into the issue, not give a weak response like "The 07 tuning in the truck is different from the 06, so it will not feel the same. "

I have been told to have you resend the trouble ticket.

When you send it please write in that I asked you to send it again and calibrations would like to recieve it.

Please send us your VIN and tuner serial number.

Ron

Well, it's been two weeks since I gave all the information about this problem along with the skipping issue to Chris. I have not been contacted since nor have I seen any updates to this issue on this forum or the Flashpaq site. What recourse do I have at this point since my purchase was over 30 days ago? I think you owe your customers something better than lip service for what your product costs! Your advertising practices about this products capability are very questionable. I am going to be posting this entire thread on the TDR site since you advertise in the TDR quarterly. I think other TDR members would like to see how your Flashpaq is not being supported on the customer end.

Go dyno the truck and send them the dyno graph. That will tell them a lot more than "it's got a huge delay after the boost tops out before you can actually feel the truck start to really pull hard. "

Just as BullyDog went through when their programmer first came out, just as Smarty is now going through, so is the Flashpaq. I feel your pain, but it looks like natural product evolution. Seems we learn more about these after release than the manufacturers can tell us before we buy. It appears that they want to get to the bottom of it, but some internal miscommunication may be hindering more than helping.

It's funny you say that, as I actually did some beta testing back in 1999 & 2000 on my 7. 3L for them at my own expense. I would probably get my current truck on a dyno if I didn't have to drive so far the get on one. I am more disappointed in how hard it is to get a straight answer out of them any more. There are guys (including me) that are having a "Skipping or Surging" issue as well but they have not been able to replicate it on their truck. Why don't they ask someone near them with the problem to bring theirs in so they can see what is going on instead of taking shots in the dark?

I think most of the companies out there are getting "free" beta testing by putting their programmers & box's on the market without the proper in-house work being done first! I think I have seen posts about every programmer & box out there causing some sort of problem. It's too bad they just won't come out and tell you up front that their product may or may not function as advertised.
