Blower motor went out 2 weeks ago. Last night the new one started acting up again. Then this morning it totally quit on the way home from the woods. Got into the driveway and put the steering wheel up and it started working again. Down don't work, up works, down works, up don't work. Knew it had to be a chafing wire. Looked underneath dash and everything looked good. Decided to go a bit further. Took steering column covers off and still could not find any wires chaffing but it was still doing the on and off thing with movement of the steering wheel up and down. Held hand on ignition relay and the more the blower ran the hoter the relay got. After further inspection found dis-colored wires at the big plug in with 30 something wires coming out of it. Took the cover off of the relay and it was burnt in one spot where the big red and black wire went to it, not good. No biggy call dealer for one. Yes they got a relay not to bad $100. 00. Then noticed the plug in was burnt. Ok, call dealer again yes they got one $65. 00 for the plug and 8 inches of wires. Talked to technician, would have thought it would have a plug on the other end, nope. After further thinkin knew it was not right to just twist 30 wires together and tape them up. Dealer now has it and will SOLDER all wires together. THE RIGHT WAY. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE RELAY. Glad I caught it in time before major fire. Everything else ok and no fuses blown.
