Where is the location of the ignition safety switch on a 2000 ram with manual trans? Truck wont start, battery and starter are good.

On trucks through 98 it is part of the clutch master cylinder actuator rod. Look under the steering wheel between the clutch pedal and the firewall? bg

It is a black plastic collar about 2. 5" long on the clutch master cylinder rod. Pull the white cover off and pull back a little and it will come off.

I have a 95 and it does turn over, and if it does not start the first time its like a disconnect, and then I have to reset the clutch and it will turn over and start.

Can the connection on the lock out be made to make a better connection, or fixed to make a more positive connection? this clutch lock out and hydraulic system is only two years old and should not be giving me problems yet. I'm considering by passing which is not a good idea. I don't drive the truck all that much either.

Any thoughts out there?
