My guess is the light bulb for the indicator is burnt out. I had that happen to my cruise indicator. It is really easy to replace just pull off the dash trim and the dash bezel. The whole instrument cluster pulls out as one piece, no wires or cable because it is all circuit board. then flip it over and there will be little black knobs that twist and pull out, that is your light bulb. I think they are even labled so you know you are pulling the correct one. For me I have a manual transmission so I pulled the bulb for the overdrive indicator and used that. Not sure what they cost if you have to go buy one. Total should only take you about ten or so minutes to switch it out.
I've been looking at the manual and I think that one is LED.
My 4WD light was acting up and then quit. I've been leaning toward the sending unit. Probably because I'm a glutton for punishment and that one will be a PIA.
Solid front axle, no vacuum switch.
It appears to be a gound switch so maybe I'll pull the plug at the sender and short it.
I got those part numbers and the switch is no where to be found. there is a switch on top of the housing over the shift linkage for the t-case that is 2 wires which I assume o be the indicator switch
:{ Switch should be on top of case on passenger side about the middle Easier to feel than see. Follow the two wires to get there. Mine was easy enuff to remove with stubby 15/16 wrench. Good luck
