Ignition

I Have 2004 Ram3500 5. 9. A friend tells me to turn the ignition on, then off, then on again and a message will appear in the odometer area, reading DONE.

What is this about and what does that do? I haven't done this on my truck yet, but two other owners have. Does it do something to the computer?RGB

It will get the computer to display any trouble codes that have been set.



The correct procedure is to start with the ignition switch "on" with the engine NOT running.



Switch it off-on-off-on-off-on as quickly as you can, but don't bump the starter.



When done correctly it will display any P-codes and display "done" when it's finished. If all you get is "done", then there are no codes stored. That would be good news! :-laf
