Based on my SIG. Im thinking of a SPS 62 from II. I realize calling them is prob. the best thing to do, but you know Id rather hear from my brothers first:-laf Dont know if this charger is too big or not. Dont want to lose my daily driver capabilities. Tow too. Difference between Phat Shaft And Super Phat, other than 300 bucks. Is it worth the $300 to go Super Phat. I want to cover as broad a range as I can. This is my daily driver and I want to hook a couple times a year. Plus I tow 5-12 thousands fairly regular. Thanks Guys

P. S. Looking for as big a drop in EGT's as I can get. 2 boxes=HIGH EGT'S

i think with looking at your sig that the SPS 62 would suit you very well.

Thanks, where is the best place to get one? Directly from II? $1695 thats a lot of dough for me! Well not me but the wife will be happy:-laf What charger do you have? I assume you didnt make 606 horse with the stocker? If you dont mind.

Sorry Im a dummy I see the 66. HMM bet that will sing!

yeah the 66 is a pretty nasty turbo. i plan on upgrading to the silver bullet 66 soon.

I have a Bullet Robert :) Just updated to a huge 18" filter to compliment it.

I too think the SPS 62 would be best for you, I have on on a 12V running around OKC and it is super nice, perfect driving manors, will work great on smaller setups but will makes some big power too. It's (to me) the best overall turbo out there.

Jim

one other thought is a silver 62, it will handle towing fine and will give a bit more air for pullin, but it's price is again elevated like the PS vs the SPS.

hope this helps

Obviously, you have not towed with a Silver62 on a 3rd Gen?:) The SPS62 is much better suited for towing, much better!

It is GREAT(Silver62) for WOT, empty, but while towing, you have to keep pouring fuel to it to keep it singing. If not, no boost, egt's way high.

The 71mm turbine is a heck of alot better for towing than the 74mm, unless you are in a towing race!

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all the SPS's upgradeable to the next size up? I talked to Brady about a Silver 64 and for 500. 00 it could be turned into a Full Bullet.

Ajj good info, thanks guys. My biggest concern as of now is a reduction in EGT and a pick up in power. When pullin hills around here (lots of em too) I usually stay in 5th gear and keep my X-Power on level one to keep EGT's in check. Does all right but I want more authority. Like to turn the X-Power to level three to use the additional power. But I can send my gauge to 1500* in a heartbeat, I relize Im prob. overfueling, but you know how that goes... . Im not gonna stop:D Want a turbo that will tow hard, drive decent daily and keep her cool while hooked to the transfer sled with both boxes maxed out on power. (additional 115 from Hypertech and 130 from X-Power (duration only))

My preferred Turbo for Towing with city Driving and standard Duty PS 62/12, Hwy driving PS 62/14, Extreme Duty 1300lbs Plus SPS/SB 62/12 city, Hwy SPS/SB 62/14... add the wild Rail to any of these turbo's to increase Performance. .

Smokin Joe, I wish I could help more, every truck is idividual. My best guess would be to call both II and HTT and tell them what you want and expect.

Good Luck!

Here you go!

The filter is an AFE, PN 24-50518 I used this filter many years ago on my first Twin set! It is a 5" inlet and 18" long, the boot is a 5" 45 degree with a

4" insert slip for the turbo.

What I did was shave about 3/4" off one end to make the filter clear, the pipe insert between the boot and filter only needs to be about 2 inches long, doing this will allow you to move the filter closer to the turbo. Yes it is a tight fit but seems to work well, I know the turbo likes the bigger filter area!
