Illusion Lighting headlight mod

Has anyone had Illusion Lighting modify their headlights? I have dealt with the miniscule lighting of my Ram long enough. I do not see the Brite box as a fix as it does not allow one to see any further down the road. I contacted Daniel Stern of Daniel Stern Lighting and he told me to have Illusion Lighting modify my headlamps. After looking at their web site, I see that they modify the truck to take a DOT spec HID Xenon bulbs. They install Philips D2S 4100K bulbs with Hella D2 ballasts and work over the reflectors and lenses. I do not know their actual charge for this since I have not heard from them and they don't advertise it on their site.



Chrysler definitely skimped in numerous areas on our trucks. Having owned Hondas and Toyotas for the past 17 years, I am not accustomed to such an inferior product.

I agree the headlights are hurrendous. They claim they are improved for 2006... those new headlights like on the Dakotas.



HID will surely cost $1000.



We would probably be better off just adding some nice driving lights. I think that's going to be a near term mod..... Maybe after stacks though :-laf

This is what I did to solve the problem

I can get HID bulbs for the driving lights as well but they are $1500 :--)

$1500 for HID . . . . , I paid only $400 out the door for top of the line CATZ hi/low beam 9007 4300k HID's. Now if only I could get them to work . . . , they will!

Wimp headlights

I've been screaming about Ram headlights since I bought my '03 Ram. Wish somebody would sue DC. These suckers are pitiful on dark highways at night. I have the Brite Box and even wrote about it. It's a partial answer up close but not down the highway where light is needed most.
