It's a clanging sumpin terrible. DOC looked and said it's not the universals, rather the splines. Can the yoke be removed and just that part replaced? Probably do universals too, not much sense not to while in there. What's the cheapest answer? Then what would you do if it were your truck and had to go 120k a year?

The yoke can be replaced, but the "stub" (the splined part) must be replaced as well, you'll need a driveline shop to do the work, since welding and ballancing are required. It's not going to be cheap, but probably the cheapest route..... expect to pay in the neighborhood of, $300, plus any joints you'll be replacing.
