Had a number of requests for pictures of my motorcycle trip. This was by far the longest trip I've ever gone on and had a blast. I went to Eureka Springs, AR for the first international ZRXOA rally (kind of like the TDR except for 99-current Kawasaki ZRX owners). Left last tuesday and got back yesterday.

06/07 - left Sunfield bound for ES rode on the freeway to just east of Indianapolis and then hit the back roads from there on out. Had a blast riding state route 62 & 66 in southern Indiana along the Ohio river. Stopped for the night somewhere in Illinois right at sunset just after getting a ticket for going 73 in a 55 - 680 miles today

06/08 - finished the ride into ES riding nothing but scenic routes and the twistiest roads I could find on the maps between them. Rear tire is nearly done from spinning it up coming out of corners on 14 in AR. 650 miles today

06/09 - went on a group ride on the "pig trail" with about 11 other guys. Finished off my rear tire and replaced it with the spare I sent down with a friend. 200 miles today

06/10 - led a group ride of 8 to sr-14 and tore it up. Was planning on riding 400 miles but the other guys cried uncle at 150 miles into the ride. 300 miles total today

06/11 - took group picture in the morning and then headed out with 4 other michigan guys (and one passenger) for a good 250 mile ride. Ended up going 5 miles down a dirt road and up a steep rutted hill climb that was interesting on our 550 lb bikes :) . Had a big get together that night with a band made up of ZRXOA members along with a raffle, etc.

06/12 - lots of folks left for home today. A friend and I went for a "leisurely" ride and ended up in Oklahoma :-laf . Pulled in a bit after dark and moved into one of the unoccupied rooms at the hotel to try to get a good nights rest in an air conditioned room before hitting the road home in the morning (spent the rest of the time in a tent) - 200 miles today

06/13 - headed for home planning on mostly freeway riding. The heat was ridiculous in the afternoon - 96 degrees and 98% humidity. Around 5:00pm somewhere in Kentucky I went to change lanes and tried to use my clutch lever as a turn signal lever and figured that was a sign that I was too tired to be riding. Stopped and had a message from my dad making sure I was OK because of severe storms all over Indiana. Got a room about an hour out of Louisville and turned the AC all the way up and enjoyed the 60 degree room overnight. 550 miles today

06/14 - finished the ride into Michigan riding through a few storms on the way. 450 miles

3,200 miles total in 8 days!!

What an awesome week! Only a rider can probably understand but all those miles with just me, my bike, and the road were priceless! I've gotta do a ride like this every year. Now for some pics.

This guy and his wife got run off the rode the sunday before I left (he got there early). They spent a few hours in the hospital but were riding again later in the week. His bike lives on in a few other bikes now.

A little minor maintenance in the parking lot :-laf . This is a turbo bike and he blew it up. They swapped the pistons, rods, cylinder, head, etc from the bike above and had it running again by the end of the day!

Where are the pics from the trackday at Barber?????

Actually, there was a track day on wednesday at Hallett raceway in Oklahoma. But being that far from home and having a baby on the way (and being self employed - ie no work, no pay) I thought it best for me to sit this one out. Here's a group pic from the track day:
