That depends on what you want the truck to do in the future. On a stocker... . just go buy a section of 3" pipe and replace the resonator and muffler... run it sttttrrraaaaiiiiiggghhhhttttt.
hehe all kidding aside, a quality 4" system sounds real nice, but you will see little if any performance gains over a straight piped 3" with a Walker 3" welded race muffler untill you are over 400 HP.
if you go the DIY route... place the muffler as far back as possible to lower the possibility of the exhaust causing a resonance in the cab (drone)... . on second thought, with the SPL you are already running, you wil most likely not notice any drone or resonance with the stereo cranked... ... mabe you should straight pipe it!
The muffler on my truck just fell off the other day and I love the way it sounds. I did replace the gaping hole in the exhaust with a section of pipe. The exhaust note now is awesome. Maybe if you go down the right road, your muffler might fall off too!
Check out www.stans-headers.com they've got great prices, and an excellent fit. Anything you want, from 4" straight piped all the way out the back, to a 4" system with muffler. I've bought from them twice, and love the quality and service, as well as the low price.
Jardine (Pinnacle Performance Exhaust) and Jannetty Racing also offer quality systems with mufflers.
If you want stainless the ATS dual exhaust setup that Ted Jannetty has on his truck looks real nice, I've seen it in on his truck. It has 5" polished tips too.
