Thanks, TDR Staff

Cable Modems?

Anyone see the movie "Bourne identidy"?

Actually I'm way more unhappy than the autocensor will allow me to say!!

I've had my South Bend Con OFe waiting at my buddies house until I have an opportunity to assist him and put it in.

Well, his garage burnt down yesterday and my clutch has vapourized.

Now I'm not sure who, if anyone, will replace it. Anyone have any ideas as to how to proceed?

Peter is #1 is customer service

but this would be waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond the call of duty.

But I bet he will  it would be a hell of a story.

Burnt Clutch

I don't know. I seen on here one time where a guy had a S. B. clutch delivered while he wasn't there and a dog ripped into it. The guy was wandering if dog slobber would hurt it. I guess Peter caught wind of it and told him not to chance it,to send it back and he would send him a fresh one. I thought that was outstanding customer service to cover"slobber damage". So he may help you out... Doug

different in other states

His HO policy should cover it. Depending on the ins company, there may be a special limit on property that isn't his. I doubt it. Good Luck.

I went around to see the damage - not as bad as I thought, just the corner of the shop burnt but everything is in a big pile in the driveway so I don't know if my clutch is there or not.

He's waiting to see what the Ins. Co says but, crossed fingers, it might work out OK.

My Delo and filters survived so at least something came out OK.

Thanks for the comments, I was pretty bummed out for a while - that seemed to be just the last straw with all the other BS going on at the moment in my life.

It's been a tough life for this clutch, the UPS guy dropped the last one and Peter replaced it for me and now this... ... ... .

Kiwi- wow new meaning to a burnt clutch, just a thought I would call Peter and get his thoughts on the pressure plate because it may have lost its spring to it, high temps do funny things to metal.

As far as Peter and his warrenty you are in good hands, I ordered a con ofe from him and the ups guy dropped it off in my yard and the dog ate it:mad: Peter offered to fix it up or replace it but it turns out that the dog just slobbered it up and spread it around the yard so I was ok:cool: ... ... ... ... . Good Luck

WOW!!!

What a way to burn up a clutch. Like I have always said... when you become a customer of mine, I want to keep you for life. I know things happen that can be out of your controll and I don't think it should cost you twice. Your freind's deductable might be more then the clutch. Give me a call and I will shoot you out another one. If by chance you are able to collect some money then maybe you can kick me back a little. If not, don't worry about it. I trust everyone once. Sound good?

:--) Damn Peter, I have an auto and your making me want to buy a clutch from ya just for the hell of it. Any chances of SBC buying all the DC stock anytime soon? My hats off to you dude, that is way cool.

Peter, you are the man :) I look forward to meeting you someday

If you are ever looking for a salesman, give me a call.

With service like that, selling your product would be a pleasure

I second what Bob said. Guys like Peter are what make the TDR such a great site to hang out.

WOW! Thanks Peter, that's a very generous offer. I'm going to wait until they've sorted through everything as I don't know what has happened. I'll report back then. Thanks again.

Talk about customer service! Peter, when I do my next mod... the 5th gear in my NV4500 I am replacing the clutch. With that kind of service, you can be assured that a South Bend will be the clutch of choice.

When I have to replace my stock clutch, it will definitely be South Bend. I have never witnessed customer service like that. I would recommend your services to any of my friends that are not TDR members.

Great point!!!

Heat can do funny things to metal. Don't even take the chance, let's get you a new one and let the rest work itself out. Please, do not hesitate to call me on Monday.

And, by the way... ... . Folks, thank you for the kind words!! It is not really that big of a deal to help out but I only hope when it becomes my turn all goes well. Sometimes good but sometimes bad. We can only learn by experience.
