I just got my pillar and three gauges PROMPTLY from TST. Less than a week from ordering to on the porch!!! THANK YOU Mark!!! Does anybody have any recomendations for routing the wiring from the gauges to under the dash? Do you just tuck it in? I'll be doing the install soon and appreciate any advice. The new pyrometer has a smaller therocoupler from TST and that means a smaller hole in the manifold that I'll be drilling! Thanks, Herb

Run your wires down the A-pillar into the fuse box area and then under the dash. You can pick up the light wire with the dimmer if you pull out the light switch, just unsnap the dash bezel by pulling outward.

Did you paint the A pillar?

JohnB,

Did you paint the A- pillar or leave it black? Also, did you remove the old stock pillar? Herb

There's a soft spot to put it.

Hi,

After looking further at my truck, I found there is a soft spot to pass wires thru from the pillar to the fuse panel. NEAT! It's going to be easier than I thought. Check it out on your dash and you'll see what i mean. Herb

:D :D

I removed the old cover and held the new one on with one screw. I used a piece of black door edge protector on the windshield edge of the new cover to blend and keep any sqeeks away. I did paint mine to match. Good luck!

Question:

I have a trannie temp and egt guage mounted on the A pillar. I just got a 3 guage holder with spot for tweeter from Ginos. Was ready to install the new pillar.

Yesterday I saw the dash mounted guage holder (three guages). I like it better.

I live in the counrty in the north Georgia mountains. I travel a lot of twisty mountain roads. When I am taking a curve to the left it's hard to see on coming traffic with my 2 guage holder attached to the A pillar. I have to lean forward in the drive's seat to look into the curve for on coming traffic. I'm guessing that the new A pillar 3 guage holder will make this problem even worse. It makes sense that with a dash mounted instrument cluster I wouldn't have this problem and have better visability.

I'm thinking of returning my new A pillar and ordering the dash mount.

Does anyone have experience with a dash mount guage holder? At night can you see the reflection of the guages on the front windshield? Has anyone had both the pillar and dash mount gauage holder and what are your opinions of either?

Check out the photo of the US Gear dash pod for your truck at Diesel Injection Service. I like it better than my 2001 model. No reflection at night. I like it. ;)
