Lost Another Good One - Marty Balin

Rainbows, but no Unicorns.......

If he parks that new Caddy of his in front of it......it will look like a retirement home. ;):D

Ahh yes, but first he must get rid of the dilapidated Hoopty with grenaded motor, the boat, the camper, and the enclosed trailer along with the other 3 vehicles he owns. Otherwise the redneck country boy stigma remains forever

Yes indeed, but I thought the whole jist of buying a retirement home was to get away from home :p

Congrats Mike!

The real reason is for when we sell up on the lake. There will come a day when the upkeep is going to be too much and we will want a place with everything on one floor. This little ranch will fit the bill for sure......and easy to drain if one desires to bug out for the winter.....

Hoopty 1 just got sold yesterday.......did a little research and a bad radiator cap will mimic a blown head gasket on a Northstar.....sprung 13.50 for a GM Cadillac Radiator Cap......and damn if it didn't cut it out once the system finished burping the air....apparently when the cap starts to fail and loses it integrity air will sneak into the system......wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it......

Hey Mike, I had a three time double take at this guy who came to my shop (parts room of all places!) he was a dead ringer for you. I couldn’t believe it, and I tried to get a picture but failed. I think he was an auditor from downtown.

Levittown is a good bit south. If you go due West across the Delaware from southern Hunterdon County you are more in the Kintnersville, Ottsville area, both very small crossroads towns. You'd have to follow the river south all the way to New Hope to get to a town anyone likely heard of.

TF, last weekend I did look at one near doylestown, and then to another one in Alexandria, so I let the Uconnect guide me back, and it took me all through Ottsville and Kinterville, and over the Milford bridge. It was quite gorgeous, but the rest of the family won’t have it. Mrs. is having a tough time just getting away from lamplit streets, let alone ultra rural. In due time.

Alexandria Twsp is nice, and has quick access to I-78. My uncle learned to fly at Alexandria Field, and we flew out of there often. Not far up the road is Sky Manor, a bigger airfield that had a nice little restaurant. Not too far south of the Frenchtown bridge on the PA side was Van Sant Airport, which was a grass strip
You see lots of oldies fly in and out, and they towed gliders out of there too. I don't know if you're into aviation.

Of course I love anything wearing an engine! But I’ve never had the opportunity to be around anyone into flying. I’d always heard about a little airport in N.J. that a resturaunt, and while driving around out there I saw airport and resturaunt signs stacked on a pole, and (since we needed to eat) followed the signs right to “Sky Cafe” at Sky Manor. It was a neat experience!

Now that's a coincidence. I had Aunt's and Uncles living in Levittown. I was down the road in Old Croydon just outside of Bristol, I think that is all Bucks County. There is a Levittown in NJ but I do not know what county that is.

Dave

Yes I believe it is Bucks County. Last time I was there was for her uncles funeral. He was a popular musician at the local level, spen quite a few years of his youth playing with various members of the Grateful Dead, Billy Squier, and Clarence Clemons. Those services were unlike any I have ever been to. He touched quite a few lives apparently.

If you don't mind having me as a neighbor, a real nice ranch style house with garage and almost 3 acres just listed for sale this week. It is approx 1/2 mile from me on the same road. The lady that owned it was a teacher at the local school for years before she retired and I believe that she is widowed now. Not a bad price also.

Mike, I appreciate the offer. But that’d be such a bold move for us. I honestly don’t know how I’d do with the winters.
