Thats right!A friend i work with has a steering problem. No wandering ! Here go's . He has 1998 ,2500,ex cab,5 speed. Sitting still, in neutral at idle you need to struggle to turn the wheel in both direction, the real kicker is when you step on the brake you need both hands. The dealer changed the pump, hoses, fluid, bled the system, still hard to turn. The dealership agrees that their is still a problem. DC is telling him & the dealer it's nornal. I'm not no mechanic, but i do know after being in his truck and try it myself it's not right. Thanks in advancehttp://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/cwm/disturbed.gif[

CAM, my guess is the steering box is toast. It is probably binding, who knows? Or maybe it used to wander and they tried adjusting it and tightened it up too much.

I used to have the exaxt same truck, 98 QC 4x4 and it was still steering great at 60k when I traded it.

Vaughn has a good point. Before my box was replaced, it was adjusted several times and once, we got the overcenter adjustment a little snug (the nut and allen screw on top of the box) and it wouldn't return to center and was really hard to steer. But if that's OK I'd say the pump itself is shot.
