pull the starter to put in those heavy duty contacts. batteries are disconnected. how do i pull the starter? will it come out the bottom between the frame rail? looks like a 12pt socket.

thanks for any assistance.

Remove the big batt cable, remove the small power wire. There are 3 bolts holding in the starter, yes the heads of the bolts are 12pt. You'll easily see two of the bolts, the 3rd is directly ontop from where the bottom bolt is (pain in the rear). Yes the starter will pretty much drop down between the frame rail and engine.

Once you have the starter on the bench, remove the rear cover on the 'doghouse' of the solenoid. You'll see the contacts right there. The rest will be self explanatory from there.

yes, kent as a matter of fact i am. with a wireless connection (extremely fast - i highly encourage you get hooked up that way)... .

And let's see, the monitor hangs from a thingamajig in front of your eye, CPU is voice-activated for hands-free operation... .

Brilliant! :D

If you are talking about the rubber cover for the big cable your truck has seen enough heat to bake it. You will end up destroying it before it comes off. Not to worry there is nothing in daily use that will get close enough to short against it.

Actually…Scotts in watching the game. You have been corresponding with his computer which is on a very small creeper trying to reach the ratchet with a pair of usb cables. Pretty cool in an unsettling way!!
