I have a buddy that changed his Fuel filter last night. He got a used 2001 totally stock with 40k miles. First fuel filter change for him. So I gave him a walk through on the instructions and he calls me in a panic last night and it won't start. I made sure that he did everything right over the phone. I walk through what he did and everything sounds right. But what is happening is that the canister is not refilling with fuel.
To make a long story short he had to pour unfilter fuel into the canister to get it started to check the line pressure, with my new Briar Hopper's gauge!, and low and behold... . 0 psi @ idle...
The moral of the story. Always check the fuel line pressure before changing your fuel filter.
