Important info for anyone performing 24v engine swap

This could save you some time and frustration: If you swap a 24v cummins into another vehicle and want a stand alone system using ecm only, you will need to reflash the ecm to a manual transmission program if your engine was originally equipped with an automatic. Engines equipped with the auto trans from the factory HAVE to talk to the vehicle pcm. Engines with manual trans do not need to talk to the pcm.

Dave, did you also enable the high idle while you were in there? I am fine tuning an on demand high idle that uses the factory version.



On another note, check the event forum for possible upcoming dyno day in Ft. Collins, maybe you can bring that beast on down.

Should have bought that factory performance ECM off Ebay huh?

Can they reflash the ECM without the rest of the truck being there? ie; Not running?
