My 2004. 5, 6spd, 4x4 has about 9000 miles on it. Based on the posts I have read , it appears I'm getting about average hand calculated mpg at 14-15 mpg city and 15-16 mpg 75mph highway. It seems the reaction to TSB 18-037-04 varies quite a bit, so I have yet to take it in for service. I have been wondering if any of the companies that make the performance "boxes" have focused on increasing the MPG for the 600's. It seems to me that if they can optimize the motor for power they could also have a setting that optimizes for fuel economy. This would be a great selling point because it is very easy to justify the expense if you can get a payback from an improvement in mileage. This may be a a naive question because I have not looked into how these different "boxes" work.

I think the general thought is that if you can restrain your want to USE the power, then most chips "can" add milage, but I would not bank on it

Same here. 1000 miles after the TSB with a fill up at 600 miles and the other when I got home last night (400 miles later), my overall average (calculated) for the trip was 20. 5. That's up from 19 before the TSB.

All but 550 miles were Interstate, 150 miles city (primarily in Fort Walton (stop every 1/4 mile at every red light)) and 300 on the two lane roads running 60-65. Interstate speed was 70-75 with the cruise on.

My computer is showing 19. 7 MPG. At least it's trying to get up to the right number.

I realize that seems like a lot of BS info, but I wanted to try to document the results I've seen since the TSB. Overall, the balance of miles seems like a fair test of performance.
