I have had it in 4wd but I dont normally back up. Today I did and it felt like it was surging or maybe Binding is a better word. I was in 4wh and half way to right lock. Is this normal anybody else have this problem. I have had the truck about a month and it has 26,000 miles on it. I have put about 6,000 on it and it seems to be a good truck.

were you on dry ground? 4wd on dry ground/pavement is not recomemded especially if you are turning. no diff. in the transfer case so it causes the drivelines to bind up

Same as ANY 4wd will do (with a solid coupling front to rear anyway). Shouldn't matter fwd or reverse. Front end is going in a bigger circle than the rear end, somethings got to give .....

It seemed a little more sever than my 4WD dakota I figured it was ok but wanted a second opinion. I took it out and played in the pasture and it all seems to be working good.

Thanks for the replies

The wheelbase on this truck is a lot longer, so the difference in speed front/rear will be much more significant than in that Dakota. :)
