I have a 05,2500 with a short box and a sliding hitch for a 5th wheel, I am wanting to put a tool box in that will not interfere with the trailer hitch and still be clear. The distance from the front rail of the hitch is only 21" to the front of the bed, any ideals and/or sources /SIZE]

I've never looked for one. I can go 3-4 weeks on a tank of fuel now. More would be nice when towing, but not worth the hastle for me.

Be sure to check your owners manual (or do a search here) for the bed brackets that are required.

I love my Truck Trunk. Low profile, Intended for RVer's. Comes with a unique mounting system, No drilling. Every box has a serial number and is warranted for life. All rivets and no welds. Not cheep, but well worth the money. Here's the link to there web site; http://www.trucktrunk.com/

I'm having a problem pasting in the forum codes for the pics, but see my Readers Rigs section at left for pics of my solution from UWS. It's small, but meets your specs plus also keeps the bed floor clear.

Well, after rebooting my laptop, I find I can paste again. This one doesn't sit on the floor of the bed--it's their "slimline" (only 12" front-to-rear) for a Dakota, suspended between, instead of on top of, the bedrails. It's only 9" deep, so, like I said, it's small--but it does provide lockable storage. Thare's also a 5th-wheel box at the rear of the bed.
