I have a new problem with heat in the cab. My question, is there a vacuum hose that runs from the thermostat in the dash to a valve on the heater core? In the past week it has not been working well and I think I can hear a high pitch vacuum leak from the dash. The engine is still at 180 degrees.

Thank for your help!

I had the dash out of mine this summer for the A/C unit. If I remember there are about four vaccume lines that orginate from the passenger side firewall. Try looking under the dash on top of the transmission hump, I know it is very uncomfortable use the throttle as a head rest. You should be able to see where they connect to the accuators and if they are working when you move the different climate knobs. There is one more behind the glove box, which you can get at if I remember by removeing the glove box. Otherwise the dash may have to come out. Let me know what you find.
