Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Hey everyone.
Looking at in-car video system that captures view forward and view to the rear (this could be a second camera at the rear window, not necessarily same housing as front because I don't need to record in the car), is fairly simple to operate manually (switch on after start, etc.) and can be programmed to record either on motion-detect or once every x seconds for when the car is parked. Some means of battery protection so it shuts off before starting becomes an issue is a plus, as is "simpler" downloading/saving of files, but GPS and/or speed are not needed.
And if you have a favorite supplier (like Crutchfield or ?) pass that along too please.
