in lb torque vs ft lb torque??

Well, if you had a fastener that required a torque of 18 in-lb, could you set a ft-lb torque wrench to 1.5 ft-lb and get an accurate reading? I couldn't with any of mine. That's why I have both.

That's what I'm figuring also. I have one on order and will just have to wait until next weekend to do the work. Thanks for the input. -nBs
 
I have had luck by just going snug , not right then backing off the 2 1/2 turns before but I do have both wrenches and am thinking about buying a new digital for the new stuff out
 
When it comes to adjusting something as critical as transmission bands, no. Converting isnt good. Invest in a wrench, and save yourself the cost of a bad transmission.
