Howdy all...

I've been lurking around here for a while, you guys have been a wealth of information.

I traded my 99 Ram gasser in on my first CTD, picked it up 9/11 (you think I'll remember the date?), I couldn't be happier. I don't think I've felt this way about a vehicle since I was a teenager.

I work as an equipment mechanic for the utility authority in our county and we have them all, the only time you see a Dodge in the shop is for normal servicing. There was no discussion on what to buy when I decided that I needed more power, I drive a powerstroke every day as my service truck :( and I see GM injection pumps being changed a little to often... .....

I love my Dodge CTD!!!

Jim

Love mine too!

Welcome Jim,Im kind of new here too. Great bunch of guys on here tho. Some people just don't understand why I get so excited about a truck,or why I work on it if it ain't broke(BOMBing),or why it's so darn loud. They just just don't get it:rolleyes: :D Doug

Hi Jim, I feel the same way. I had my '95 for 6 years, longest time I had a vehicle. I can't believe the vast improvement. When the Bomb bug bites have an empty credit card or 2 :p . Welcome to the group :D , Sam

People here understand loving a truck! I get a grin on my face every time I start mine up. If I get up in the night to go to the bathroom, it's not unusual for me to take the scenic route back to bed (I go by the window and throw the spotlight on my truck!):D

And my wife thinks I'm the only one who checks on his other baby at night,,,Guess I'll have to show her this post,,,Somehow I'd bet she'll believe we are all warped or lost and need to seek help,,,Welcome aboard... ...

We got any country-western songwriters on here? (Sit DOWN, Doc Tinker!) Somebody needs to write us a song about our first diesel! :)

ahoy matey!!!

welcome aboard the SS CTD!! i've had some vehicles that i have liked BUT ONLY ONE THAT I HAVE LOVED!!! from the first time i hit the starter at the dealer to bring her home. there is nothing else quite like driving this beast. remeber, when the bombing bug hits (and it will) GAUGES FIRST!!!

now, about that country song--maybe aaron tippin or joe diffie are available. :D :D :D :D

love th' truck

don and hammer... ... ... "if i get up at night to go to the bathroom... . " IF??? how young are you guys? at my age , it's not IF, it's how many times!!!:D btw, don't you all sleep in your truck? my wife brought me out a cup of coffee the other morning. i told her to shut the door so the lights would go out, so i could have another short nap before i had to go to work. she said something about "bonding" with this truck more than i had my previous trucks... ... ... ... . what is 'BONDING"? is it anything like "BOMBing"?:D :D

You need help

Herb,

Sounds like we are about the same age. I have only had my new-to-me 96 Ram for about three months.

Like you, I too sleep in my truck:cool: . You should get medical attention on your waking up to pee problem.

I do not wake up at night to pee. I do wake up thinking about my truck. I get so excited I pee, then I roll over, go back to sleep and continue dreaming about my truck:D :D :D .

LOVE!!!!!!!!

I have owned rides that dazzled, delighted and delivered. NOTHING, no, NOTHING has come close to the complete comfort, total satisfaction and pride of ownership as this Beautifull Dodge of ours. Power that scares Ford guys, freaks out Chevy guys, and fuel mileage that shouldn't happen with a 7600 pound 4X4 truck. Fit and finish that Cadillac owners would not understand, and Town Car owners would weep about. These things aren't just pickup trucks, they're works of art.

If you think I like my truck, you're pretty close.

By the way, the bride's new Durango is a close second. What a nice truck!

Ron (am I holding back too much?)

Just wait!!!

Yes, I love my truck, but just wait 'til we see the new gen HD's. Have you seen the interiors yet??? Wow! And that gorgeous big grinning Dodge mouth, and the common rail injection...

Heh heh ;) It'll be a little hard to part with my baby, but not THAT hard...

soooooooo, ron... ... ... ... ... do you like your truck, or not??? don't beat around the bush, man--let it all hang out, don't hold it in!!!!

i pretty much agree with you!! my seats in the hd ram are much more comfortable than the ones in my wife's Infiniti Q45. i luv the sound, and the ride, and, and, and,... ... ... ...

:D :D :D :D I've had my '98 for 9 days. My wife and I drove it from Belen to Glorietta this past Friday for a marriage retreat. We have a hill about 20 miles north of Albuquerque called La Bahada Hill, that every car or truck I've driven has lost speed on. I had my cruise set at 75 when we hit that hill. The truck never even thought of slowing down. I had to change to the far-right truck- climbing lane to pass a couple of cars because they didn't want to move out of the way. This thing glides down the road. Once I get up to speed, you can't even hear it from inside. We can carry on a normal-voice conversation. We can even hear the radio without having it turned up full-blast.

Coming back today, there's another hill between Glorietta and Santa Fe. I was doing 80 when I hit it. This great-big ear-to-ear grin came over me as I sailed past everyone else who was trying to make it up that hill. This truck never down-shifted, never slowed down at all, just barreled on up ahead of everyone else.

Do I love it? I've NEVER driven anything like this. This thing is fantastic. I'm looking forward to a real road trip.

:D :D :D :D

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. :D My wife doesn't know what to think anymore when I get that BIG grin. She actually thinks I've completely lost it.

Looking forward to hills with the trailer behind me, used to be I'd look forward to the other side. Now I'm dissapointed when I get over the top.

Passing a rice burner when their driver window is down, almost wish I could trade places with them just so I could hear my straight pipe from their point of view:eek:

It's something that few people will ever understand, oh well. :)

Radio,You mean I have a radio????

Now I am confused??????  ,,I did not realize there was a radio in my truck,,I had to look when I read this post,,So outside I go,hit the unlock button look inside and WHALLLA,there is a radio,,I never even realized it was there,,I spend to much time runnin' around with my right window open listening to that fat sound from my exhaust to even see the radio,,Guess thats why my wife is always complaining about being cold( she even recently pointed out that I had a/c so I did not need the window open),,As far as the rightous ride deal, its second to NO ONE,,I also can honestly say the only other vehicle I enjoy driving is my wifes Durango, except I am only allowed to drive it while under supervision(hers),I always ask her whats up with that, she says YOU KNOW WHY!!,,Go figure... .

Truck love

As my wife just slinked by as I hit the submit key on the last note she has corrected me on this "Love the truck deal",,She said it has nothing to do with love,ITS AN OBSESSION,,MMMM,,ya know she may be correct here gang and I hate to tell her she's correct,,Now if I can only find a way to attach my mailbox on my truck with out it blowing off during "loud pedal" stomps... ... .
