Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) In need of a computer interface

I have a 1693 that will not go away. It has been there for a few weeks. I was thinking about getting a compter interface to trouble shoot it. I carry a laptop on the flip down front seat all the time so a interface would be a cool addition anyway. What would be a good one to get? Does anyone have one in southern cal I look at?

i hope this may help you out some... i was looking for the same thing... the problem is that it only reads the "generic" OBD codes, and will only look and the standard ECM stuff like RPM, Hours, Coolant temp, Oil pressure, etc. the gentleman i talked to about these products told me that they won't interrogate the cummins ECM like the Cummins Quick Check scan tool will do.
