The 2002 Ram 2500 I'm looking at the dealership has had the lift pump system replaced with the in-tank setup. This weekend (Sunday, dealer closed) I spent some time crawling around underneath to check as much as possible. When examining the lift pump change over... I noticed a few things. The original lift pump has been replaced with a junction block for the fuel lines to hook to. Thats understood. But I can not see any new power leads going back to the fuel module. I see the OEM lift pump power plug is now connected to some leads going somewhere up into the engine bay. (remember... I can't open the hood... its Sunday and nobodys there. )
But I figured I'd see some new power harness going to the tank. More... I figured the fuel module sticking up out of the tank would look fairly new since it was done less than a year ago and the truck sat alot during that time. But the fuel module looks like the ones I'm used to seeing back there. No additional plug-ins, no additional power inputs for the pump motor. Etc.
Am I missing something. The only power I see is the one thats always there for the float level electronics. What gives.
I'm positive the Carter is gone... but the tank module looks original. Am I crazy?
