Competition Tennessee Diesel Pull- GOOD PURSE$$$

Off Roading Pics of me Wheelin around Colorado

I took my truck to the dragstrip this Friday to see what she would do. On the last of three passes I turned a 13. 99 at 108 mph, not bad for a 6300 lb pickup! I launched in 4hi 2nd gear at 2k, powershifting to 3rd and 4th. Who says you cant speedshift a NV4500? Anyway, the best part was toasting a 94 LT1 6spd camaro while doing it. That guy was ******.

Nitrous

Why do you think that he has Nitrous? I run high 12's on 200 proof diesel. My truck is 7000 lbs.

Congrats JTeague and I hope you continue to race the truck!

Man I saw Stack'd-n-Jack'd over the weekend run that "High Monster"--and man we he takes off you can't see the score board until he lets off the throttle:--)

But unfortunatley we both went out first round:( But I don't race my truck--it has to get me home with my '64 in tow! But I did find a "Power Stroke emblem stuck to my BHAF after I got to the strip this week end:D

Hey Ron, thanks for the use of your trailer and the A/C. What do you rekon the track temps were? I know sitting by the track on a lawn chair yielded 100F. Ugly air for racing. You "car guys" are alright!

Sorry to use your thread to talk to Ron, once again JTeague, great numbers.

We have "borrowed" an infrared devise before and on days less than this weekend, inside car temps were around 147 degrees and track surface temps were in the 120 range---tires heat up very quickly too:D

Hope you got your tires changed ok!

Ron

Powershifting the NV4500

Sorry for the delay in response. I first want to say that my truck does not use anything but diesel & air to make its power. Shifting was not a problem at all for 3rd & 4th, 5th is whats tricky. I shifted at full throttle bearly tapping the clutch. I was gritting my teeth the whole time thinking something would break but it never did. The 5th gear shift required me to doubleclutch it to get it to go in.

JTeague

Is that weight figure from scales? My 2wd came in at 7450 but I have a big tool box with tools in it but figure that at about 300lbs, mostly carpenter stuff. If so I for sure am taking that box out to go racing.

Nice numbers, I hope I do anywhere even close to that.

weight

Deezul 1, That is what my truck weighs on the scales at the local truck pulls. I ASSume that they are somewhat accurate.

60 ft time

Katdiesel, My 60 ft time was only a 2. 03 when I made the 13 sec pass. It could have been better if I brought it out harder, but fear of picking up transfercase parts and an 80 mile tow home I left kinda easy.
