6TH Gear OK?

race car trailer

That must have come as a big surprise when you learned that the transport company didn't have a trailer waiting in the delivery city to haul back to the city where you started.

Of course they wanted you to deadhead to the next pickup point. That is the nature of the RV transport industry and all of the trucking industry.

:mad:OK, if you want to travel 600 miles back to SoCal with out getting paid be my guest. But that was not the point, the transport Co. knew it and was helping a customer of theres and was not thinking of my interests, only theres. I wont pay $50. 00 (after profit) too get back to the same destination only to haul another the same distance and be requested to return and do it all over again. 3 Mo. later they closed their doors, it also so happens that the transport Co. dispatcher used to work for Weekend Warrior. So lets calculate the loss 150. 00 that it would of cost me. and no reserve to bank for the 3600 miles traveled not to mention an expensive service after the trips, and the one week of work not paid for.

I got used and they knew what they were doing.:mad::mad:

BTW, I was willing to deadhead to another pickup point, but not return to the same point.

You may have forgotten that the folks you were working for were all my friends and it was me who told you how to get in contact with them. I regretted that very much after talking with them later.

They told me several months later (they were not closed) about what they thought of you and your attitude which embarrassed me.

They were not taking advantage of you. They gave you a load that is all any transport company ever did or could do. They never gave you another load because of your attitude.

Nobody in that company ever worked for Weekend Warrier. I know them all personally and they are still my friends.

Lets not take over this thread with our arguments, and I won't state names on line, and your wrong. I got the job through you and I thanked you at the time. I don't think you had any part of what happened, but the way you just attacked me shows your ignorance of the situation and your speaking out your ***, I kept their lic. plate after I refused the load, at their request, if I was interested in hauling a load in an emergency. That doesn't seem to me that they were unhappy. If you have a problem with me in the future you can e-mail me anytime you want, you do have my address, and we can hash it out online. :)

It seems no one addressed your question about the toy hauler. Probably the best out there is New Horizon's moto mover and the now defunct Alpinlight if you are looking for a full time unit. I have a KZ 40' sportster and it is fine for our 2 or 3 month trips and it hauls the HD dresser (about 850lbs) with no problems. It does not have heated underbelly and with global climate change, Austin sees 1st snow and record low on Dec. 3rd,:{ I might think about trading. If you have any question that I can help with pm me.

New Horizon is a great unit and the only 5 star rated, however the price tag is far beyond most folks budget. Before I ordered my Arctic Fox 5er, I considered and priced a New Horizon. They start at $75K before options and they will not negotiate any cheaper price.

Thanks, we are still trying to justify 40K for a TT after just spending 38K for a truck... ... ... LOL. ( Fixed income retired).

We looked at the Desert Fox 28 Ft bumper pull (I need the truck bed for the dogs) and wasn't ready to pull the trigger just yet. When Christmas is gone I'm going to start my research into a pre-owned Toy-Hauler. I'm gonna make a list and check it twice.
