Increase mileage?

What helps the 6. 7 increase the fuel mileage. Is there a chip or programer that will help out with the mileage, with out setting off any codes or creating other problems. I would like to hear from someone with expierence on these 6. 7. I don't have a 6. 7 but guys I work with do, and there is a lot of concern over the fuel mileage on these new diesels. For myself I think I will keep running my 03 and my 98 until there is some improvement in mileage on the newer diesels.

6.7L Mileage

I'll watch closely too. My 6. 7L gets about 14 MPG (US Gal) in General and up to 18mpg on the highway unloaded... Should be better. My vet says his Ford gets about 20 on the Highway (6. 4 i think)

I put on an AEM Cold Air Intake and got 1. 5-2 MPG increase. I also have learned to drive a little more conservatively to get extra MPGs. I am in the 18-19 MPG, mostly highway driving.

The 6. 4s I have drove get about half that mileage. I am in Kansas where it is pretty flat. If you were coming down a 7% grade 60 MPH with a 70 MPH tail wind you could probably get 20 out of a 6. 4.

If the mpg's hold true, his torque converter could be one of the best ways to up your fuel economy without clogging the DPF.



Goerend has a reputation for good solid products. DTT seems to agree, too.

auto trans mileage to the standard?

Jcarey - the convertor upgrade is a great reminder helping mileage out more so in the city or off-road or any time the auto trans is not locked out. I was curious how the manual transmissions are doing for mileage as they have no slipage. Or with the constant throttle of the six speed auto (converter up graded) can the six speed manual no longer compete with mileage??? The standard is not the choice of transmission for this thread, just curious on the mileage of a non slipping transmission.



There must be knowledge of running different chips, programers, even injectors and their effect on fuel mileage for the 6. 7 auto six speed. Mileage is the concern big power increases is not needed.
