Over the weekend I did some service work to my 01. 5 2500 2wd regular cab longbed automatic truck 3. 54 LSD..... getting it ready for race season. It's bone stock including intake and exhaust and has never thrown a code. I changed the oil and filter, AF and fuel filter..... all OEM and also cleaned the battery cables. I reconnected them and forgot to reset the APPS and went for a drive and the EGT's seem to come up quicker than before and are running about 100 degrees higher than before..... I have put 10K on it myself and installed guages right after I purchased. I have done the APPS reset twice now by disconnecting the battery ..... the last one was for 24 hours and it's doing the same thing..... also no codes. It seems to shift fine and run fine but just wondering did I create a problem or is this something that just needed to be done. Cruising down the highway at 75 unloaded I'm running about 750 degrees... . EGT is in the manifold. It used to run about 650. If I floor it I can see 18-19lbs of boost and 950 degrees... . before I could make that kind of boost but at most it would go to 850. I'm hoping I didn't mess up my awesome fuel mileage. Anyway just curious if anyone can shed some light on this.

Not real sher about your EGT temps, they sound pretty normal to me. But do a search here on APPS reset/adjustment and you will find a different method (voltage method). If you are unable to find it let me know and I will dig it up for you

Thanks for the reply, I imagine my EGT's are pretty normal but I'm just curious why it changed. I'll try to reset it the other way and see what happens when I get some time.

You changed your fuel filter.

Your truck now thinks it is happy fuel time and is thanking you for the clean free flowing diesel fuel.

I. E. , your getting more fuel to your engine.

With us'n here at the TDR, that's a GOOD thing! :D

I thought about that but the previous filter only had about 7500 miles on it and looked fine when I removed it. My fuel pressure is the same as before also.
