Brent the owner of the Dyno in Noblesville said that their dyno works great on supercharged Mustangs. Diesels are a different story. Some dynos have ways of loading the engine either through eddy currents or water brakes that are better suited for diesel trucks. I am going to get some more info and go back and give it another try as I live real close to Automotive Specialists in Noblesville. I will post the results hopefully next week.

Let us know what you find out. I hear those guys did a good job of running the trucks up there. I wouldn't mind driving up there and trying it out if you can get anywhere with it. :)

Anybody got the phone # for Automotive Specialists?

I am not a real dyno guru, but I thought that one should always dyno in fouth gear, because that was a one to one (1:1) ratio in the trans, and therefore, all the way back. Maybe my understanding is incorrect. Not saying that fourth is one to one on every vehicle, but whatever gear is a one to one, that is what I thought the vehicle should be dynoed in. I know auto's are a different story, but in the 727, third is a one to one, and if you cut the overdrive, wouldn't you just stay in third, and therefore have a one to one ratio? Posting to learn and throw an idea out there, no matter how far off I am ;) Thanks and God Bless, James

Wow. I got a letter in the mail today from TS Performance. Apparently I won a door prize consisting of a computer chip with one power level setting of my choice (either 50, 75, 100 or 125HP). Only problem is I don't have a Powerstroke and they dont offer anything for Dodges cept for 03-04 models. I'll have to see if they'll work something out for me. Otherwise I guess I'll have to do some swapping or find me a Ford to put it in!

When you call TS ask for Dennis. He is a great guy and I'm sure he will be more than happy to help you.

I helped to get Ryan set up at Brents, live on Morse and didn't get a chance to dyno, I'll meet ya there... .

TS Performance told me I could accept it and sell it... there were really no other alternatives given. I suppose it beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

I was thinking about getting the super 125 HP chip and giving it to some unsuspecting 7. 3 owner and fail to mention they might want gauges to monitor EGT's. That would be one more off the streets.

(That was mean and I take it back! :D)

Kaptn,

Here is what you need to know!

On a Load dyno (dyno dynamics, Mustang etc. )

Direct drive (OD off), get it into 3rd let the converter lock at the lowest speed possible then give it WOT (maximum turbo load).

On a Dynojet, let the truck get into OD at the lowest possible speed with the converter in full lockup, then go WOT and this will net you the best number.

Lockup works!

some folks are still dead set on running one big/fat turbo.

Some of us that is all we can afford. Single set-up:(

The pennies are piling up though :)

Getting back on the dyno in less than 24 hours.

OK I got on the Dyno again.

500. 4 HP & 974 torque

I could only hit 50 psi boost pressure. I waited untill I hit the high gears before nailing it. I did several different ways and only got between 450 and the best run of 500. I bury my boost gauge at the track and will be at Indianapolis Raceway Park Tuesday the 23 for test and tune. Come on out if you can and play with me and Gary C for a fun night at the track. Weather permitting.

Kirk
