Mark, I give you credit for following through and patience. I don't know what line of work you're in, but IMHO you're doing what a lot of "techs" can't or won't follow through with.

I've always been a "tinkerer" and hate when I can't solve something.

This issue was so nagging that I wasn't about to let it get the best of me. I'm just surprised at the lack of solutions online to what seems to be a major issue with these Gen 3's.

As for my part in all this... stay away from cheap aftermarket front bulb sockets. Hopefully that helps someone down the road.
 
Just to confirm, the OEM front park lamp sockets arrived today. Installed them and NO MORE LAMP OUT WARNING!!!

For anyone interested, the part number for the sockets is 5303228. They can be found online for $13-$20 each.

This was driving me nuts a couple years ago. Could not identify which bulb it was. Ended up removing all bulbs putting great on all contacts even the boards and problem went away.
