2006 DRW and towing info

I have been looking for a while to find an in bed fuel tank for my short bed. I would like one that fits on the side of the bed and over the wheel well. In my opinion that would be the most efficient place for it. Has anyone seen this, or am I looking at fabricating one?

Thanks.

I have never seen an inbed over the wheelwell tank but it sounds like that would be a good idea. They used to make tanks that mounted under the skin on fleetside beds for gas rigs but I guess the liability problmes of side impact rupture stopped that. Let us know what you come up with. bg

I think one of the problums is the weight , these are guess's , alum. tank 100lbs + 50 gals fuel , times 7 lbs ea. = 450 lbs - supported on one side vs. same weight supported on three sides .

Elite Products Inc. . Makes them. Do a search for Mega Fuel Tanks or Elite Products Inc. . They are a polyethelene tank with a aluminum cover. Depending on your truck they can about 42 gallons of fuel capacity.

Also Auto World in Great Falls MT sells them 406-727-8915.

That is exactly what I was talking about! I will try to get in touch with them. Thank you so much for the reply. If I end up getting one, or I have one made, I will post pics and info.
