Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Well I did it. 2100 mi. couldn't wait to get up close and personal with my truck (or to get it over with, depends on how you look at it) so I changed the oil and the dreaded filter.
First I went to buy supplies (oil, filter, beer etc)and picked up a pair of filter pliers.
Anyway, I put the pliers on the filter and all the post about the first oil change started playing in my mind as I strained and groaned to no avail. So I opened a beer, and thought I don't want this to diminish the joy of ownership. I reached for the can of liquid wrench and sprayed the gasket of the filter thinking if it was put on dry it might help. After about five minutes, I tried again and it moved. I don't know if the spray helped or I just got lucky but thought I would mention it.
Now I can finish the rest of the supplies in the A/C and I still love my truck.
