:{ Well it's been just about one-year since my injection pump leaked. Last time I thought I over did the amount of injector treatment. It's leaking in the same place, front of the pump right by the gear cover. I had tightened one bolt/plug at the top with small center punch, it stopped leaking could not reach it with a wrench). This time I had replaced the fuel filter (see WIF light won't go out thread), and now it's leaking again, not to bad on freeway runs, but in city traffic it runs down to the oil pan. Yea, I know the bottom line answer: have the pump redone. $400 to $800 in San Bernardino, 'Diesel Injection Specialties'. I know they have a great reputation. I don't want to spend the cash before the holidays, just bought the Mrs. a new 'Santa Fe', (she liked it, she got it). So how long can I drive my rig before disaster strikes. I have some 400-mile trips planned for early December. Thanks for reading, and any suggetions, Patrick

Pat -

Check out the thread I did on Low Pressure Fuel Line leaking - It sounds like you have a similar leak. Bottom line - we pulled pump, spent $15, replaced o-rings, reinstalled pump, leak gone.

I had a similar problem. I could not find a banana wrench with the correct size (cant remember the size off the top of my head). So I took a propane torch and a wrench that fits the bolt and bent my own banana wrench. this takes a little time to get it hot enough to bend and just do a little at a time. But when your are done you have a custom CTD VE PUMP wrench! :D

The other bolt (the one closest to the passanger side can be reached with 1/4 in drive and socket and quite a few exentions.

hope this helps.
