Well i thought i had everything worked out but after reading many of the archives on here, i'm confused  I was going for the 370's but i hear they tend to smoke alot, not something i really want (would be good for tailgaters though :D ) What about the 300's, what kind of power level can i expect from them and what DV's should i go with? A turbo is in the future but might be as much as a year away and EGT's might be a concern till then. My typical GCWR is around 13K - 14K about every 3rd weekend, otherwise i run empty. A GSK and plate will be added at the same time (#4 plate?)

Thanks for you suggestions!

How much power are you looking for? At 14,000 GCVW you don't need much more than 270 hp to pull hills. I dynoed at 294 with a No 8 plate, 215 injectors, 3000 GSK, MHAF, and opened up 3 inch exhaust.

I suggest you install a No 6 plate, GSK, and MHAF. If you want another 25 HP, then consider the 215 injectors. With this combination you should be able to keep the smoke down with over 300 wheel HP.

It's hard to tell how much power i need/want but 300-400 at the wheels i hear is plenty and that jivs with what your saying. Andy Sebek at Somkin Diesel says 400 is very streetable and a good level for my truck. To get that i'd need the turbo and its just not in the budget since i preplaced the transmission.

See my sig, it runs like its totally stock except when you step down on it and then it eats Mustang GTs. The smoke with 370s can be very minimal by adjusting AFC sprin, AFC housing and plate position. The BHAF helps quite a bit with smoke too. My mileage towing a 6500lb TT average 13. 6 over a 7000 mile trip with about 900 running empty. The 370s were a mileage improvement once I quite having so much fun with the go pedal. My turbo is stock and works real good but I do want to go to a 16cm housing.

Do not use the 300s. Get either the 215s, DD2 or 3, or 370s. The 300s aren't as streetable and mileage will suffer compared to the above.

370'S INJECTORS!!

HOWDY ALL...

I'm going to up grade my injectors...

Are the 370's and the 370 marine The same injector??. . I've seen them all over the place on price,,,??

What is a good to avarge price??

I've heard pro's an con's on these size injectors... smoke or no smoke?? (I'm running 5" exhaust and K&N filter)

THANKS... ... ...

370's and 370 marine inj are the same. the 370's are marine application. 370's do smoke if you want them to. piers has the 370's you want if you are going to get them. piers has them for $399.

With my valet switch on, my 180 pump with now stock 181 delivery valves do not smoke much at all. You could get a valet to help with smoke control. Just a thought.

i have stock 180 pump with no plate and 370's i get a bad stumble at 80mph cant go past 2600rpms so take this into acount i guess my problem is i still have stock timing and same delivery valves and i am not sure if my valves have ever been adjusted so i have alot more work to do. the 370's alone are a nice bump but they dont smoke bad. now take the plate out and you can fog a 4 lane hwy.
