Are injecters covered in the cummins warranty? Mine are starting to rattle more than ever. I have a stock truck ,but I have run a smarty Jr for 40,000 miles on economy setting. I have 73,000 on the truck now

Dave Smith Motors was willing to change injectors on my 03 under warranty 2 years ago. Turned out it was just loose cross tubes, but my 03 has a 100k warranty on the motor, not sure on your 06...

DSM did not care a whit about my mods, your dealer may not care for the Smarty.

I have had the truck back to stock for about a month now, I guess that I hear it more now because its back to stock.

What do you mean by "loose cross tubes"?

You probably don't have a warranty. A skilled Cummins tech who is paying attention will probably detect the magic black box that was on your truck. The HPCR engines, at least the later ones, capture the evidence of aftermarket tuners.

The tubes that your injector lines connect to, they travel through a passage in the head and mate to the injector body. If they lose torque, fuel leaks between the tube and injector body, you will not see it because it will follow a return fuel path in the head.

You can remove you injector lines, then retorque the tubes to 37ft pounds, you do not have to remove injectors or anything else, besides the intake horn for access.
