I have just about tried everything i can think possible to narrow my problems to something other than my injection pump but i now have no other options. I just bought a knew one but replacing it is a problem. Do I have to remove the gear from the pump or can I leave it? And I had shane from wicked diesel build me one. Does anybody have any knowledge on his pumps?

It would be nice to know what kind of truck it is, If it has a VP44 you do not have to remove the gear. Just use a gear puller & it will push the injection pump back. Be sure that the key way is in the 12:00 position or you will most likely drop the key in the front cover. I do not know anything about the people you are buying the pump from.

'03 is common rail. You have no injection pump per say. You have a high pressure fuel pump.

Give us the symptoms and any DTC's to help you figure this out.

Come on fellas. Im not that stupid. I know its a high pressure fuel pump. But Im asking a simple question. I was a cummins mechanic for 6 years before joining the military but I worked on 12 valves. NOT 24 or the common rail. I just need to know if I need to pull the pulley or can I just pull it out the back end with the pump?
