Ok, the local guy I have been talking to has now told me he's getting trucks back with bad injector pumps after the install of a torque plate. This is the first I've head of it. Anyone have any input?
I just had my pump in a shop to replace seals and max out fuel calibration. It has had a plate in it since 36K and has 168K. It has had a 4K governer spring kit in it for 30K. The inside of the pump was in great shape.
IMO pump life has nothing to do with which plate is inside. Clean oil and clean fuel is the important stuff.
