There is a special lock washer on the pump near the timing cover held down by a 10 mm bolt. What is this for, what does it do?
I ask because when I was fine tuning the pump timing it moved down a little (probably moved by vice grips on the housing inadvertantly) so I put it back to where it was by loosing in the nut and putting it back... when I wondered what impact it had?
