Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injection pump time?

Engine has developed a "miss" under moderate acceleration. Idles fine and is good at WOT. It is showing a 0206 code (Injector #6 control circuit) and was wondering if its time for a vp44... . VP44 has 175,000 miles to its credit. .

How long / many miles on the DDPs? Is this been ongoing or recent - such as not noticed until after a fill up? How's the fuel filter? Sometimes it's those little things that get us. But, you defiantly got to give credit to that 175k VP. I'm in the same boat as for miles 172k (as far as I know anyway - I bought it w/75k on the clock so ? ? ? ) and I've noticed a slight stumble at idle when sitting at a light, only once in a great while (=less than once every other week) and then it's gone as quick as it comes.

I first noticed it about 6 weeks ago and it has progressively gotten worse. It is really noticeable when i get on the interstate and the engine is under a bit of a load. If I throw 12k behind on the 3 axle its like a bucking bronco. . DDP's have been in for about 40k. Have changed both fuel filters twice in the past month. I have visited several different locations for fuel and have always run conklin diesel plus in the tank. I hope its something small but I have prepared myself for the worst. Nice numbers by the way... I'd be happy with 552!

Long shot here but, check all your engine to frame/body grounds and accessory to engine grounds. It's possible one of the sticks has a bit of a drizzel? If you can get them pop tested (I think like $20 ea?) it's worth a shot. You never know? Anyway, I here them new Monster pumps rock :-laf

Ok, so I'm a knucklehead... I completely forgot that 0206 comes up with the smarty set on a fueling program... .

Pulled it in the shop this morning, cleaned all of the grounds and I had an extra APPS laying around so I put that on and what do you know... No more stumble. So, I will drive the rest of the day and see if it returns. .
