bare with me I am new at this, i am looking for a place to get me injection pump timing advanced. I called my local cummins and they said "h*ll no" something about against the law :( .

But if the had seen all the smoke that my truck creates they would know I don't care about "laws".

If anyone knows a place around Dallas TX that can advance the timing please let me know.

Email cumminsgetme or Don M. They can both advance the timing for you guys.

Don lives in Dallas and Cord is willing to travel just about anywhere for diesel smoke. :) Both are great guys.

I would offer, but I'm going to be pretty busy the next several weekends.

My truck has always run strong, but I was corious about timing earlier this winter when I started getting white smoke on a cold start. I stopped at Injection & Turbo in North Topeka and talked to the mechanic. He went out to the truck (which was hot & just in off the highway) put in in nuetral and floored it for a few seconds. It leveled off at 3,000 RPM, and ran smooth with a light haze at the exhaust. He said timing was fine, if not if would stumble, miss & crap out, and pour out the smoke. My hard start & white porblem turned out to be 4 loose, less than finger tight nuts on the grid heater relays on the left fender.

my truck has always been strong also but I was under the influence that if I had my timing advanced 15. 5-16 degrees that it would stop the white smoke when it's cold outside and might even let me get better fuel mileage

is this right or was I mis informed?

Strick-9 do you have Don M's number or how do we get it???

Send me a PM or call me (979 575 5647) if you guys are ready for the timing job. I'll be free this weekend as well as the first part of next week.

Does your truck only stumble at high rpm? The small pumps have a fill time issue which leads to a stumble or popping at high rpm. With my 175HP pump it began to stumble around 2750rpm at WOT. Advancing my timing to 19 deg delayed the stumble by 300rpm.

drice-

Advaning the timing to 16 deg will give you better fuel mileage, lower egt's (not much ..... don't get excited!!) and increased cylinder pressures.
