Well I think that my Injection Pump has bit the dust. I am diagnosing this from several thousand miles away from my beloved truck. My wife called me and said the throttle linkage has come off the truck, and I told her no problem it only takes a few seconds to fix. I had the linkage upgraded through the recall campaign so I didn't think it was serious. Well I tell her where to look and she says it is connected but the pedal is still weak and only idles.

So my question is where is the best place to get an exchange pump. Not necessarily the cheapest. I want GOOD customer service and reasonable pricing. I have a 98 12V, manual Transmission.

I guess I can't complain, 476,000+ miles on a pump isn't too bad. I can't complain other than transmission problems (NV4500). Aren't these engines GREAT Oo.

Cruiser,

Not so fast.

I had my recall done, too, but they didn't replace the joints on the end of the throttle rod. The truck came with plastic ones and were to be upgraded with to metal ones but the tech got lazy. One of those broke and left me walking.

I don't think a P pump can just "die". I'd say you have a cable, linkage, or solenoid problem.

Good luck,

Scott

I will know later when I get home tomorrow... just trying to think of worst case scenario. As I said it's hard to troubleshoot from a couple thousand miles away. Especially with a young lady who is only slightly mechanically inclined. I have changed my solenoid once before. PM Me with your location. I live in Middle Tenn too.
