Yup!

Yes Sir Redram3, still runnin' the origional VP44.

Hard to believe it has takin' so much abuse  I would like to believe the care I have taken in constructing a heavy duty fuel supply system has helped the reliability of the normally twitchy VP44.

For anyone that doesn't know, I had the first fuel box on the market (Blue Box) installed as soon as it was available. Since then I have had every fuel box known on this truck. Still have the oem VP44:)

Sorry about spelling Nowel is your truck a 98. 5? I think I;am about redy for some upgrades this stock thing is getting boreing thanks again John

Yup, my truck is a 98.

I Noticed you had yours reflashed for the Nox recall. That's too bad cause it severely castrated your performance. I also had them reflash my spare ECM in order to get my reg tags. Of course I installed my uprated ECM as soon as they finished:)

HVAC,

Can you tell me what exactly the NOX recall was for and how it limits your performance? Unfortunately, my dealer performed this to my '99 to supposedly cure low performance. If it makes any difference, I replaced my VA with a Edge Comp box.

Thanks,

Dan

Nox

Warrior,

The Nox reflash should not pertain to your year model. It is possible that they performed an update to your ecm or a low power TSB. But the NOx reflash was demanded by the EPA to bring the emissions of the first ISB's into tolerence. This was part of a settlement of a nasty little law suit. To improve Nox they likely killed the fuel timing which would result in a loss of power.

A friend of mine had them do the Nox reflash without his knowledge. They said it was routine!

I have always had an issue with this since we spent good money and purchased the vehicle with the performance it had when new. To ask us to bring the vehicle in and voluntarily have it neutered for reasons that have nothing to do with us is just a crime:(

Miles

Nowell, how many miles do you have on the Red Rocket now? You were around 50k when I saw ya July 2000. You've been mightily BOMBed since about what, 25K?
